Supplements

Haven Cavaliers
We approach our Cavalier's health and nutrition with holistic roots and modern benefits. We hope these suggestions are helpful and informative on how to approach your companions health, leading to a long and healthy life.
We use dry food: currently Orijens-6 fish blend or  Earth Born-Ocean Fusion blend. Adding supplements mentioned below, sometimes with boiled chicken / boiled beef as mentioned on our food page.
We use a few other ingredients to hold all the dry things together. Pumpkin, eggs, Cottage cheese or Ricotta cheese are part of the rotation, alternating days between them.
Pictured are supplements we use. Everything I suggest can be used and each have many different benefits.
#1
Apple Cider Vinegar: Add to drinking
water. A couple cap fulls per gallon of water.
This balances out your cavalier's ph levels
and promotes healthy coat and skin, as well
as having many healing properties for
the body.
#2
Oil. Both Wild Salmon Oil and Unrefined Coconut Oil. Both have different benefits and should be used.
#3
The next thing Is Vitamin E. If you are giving your pet Fish oils. They can deplete the Vitamin E in your pet. You should Supplement them with Vitamin E as well
#4
Probiotics are also very important for your pet to aid in their digestion. You can also add yoghurt made for dogs ( store kind has to much sugar ) Pumkin is also good for adding fiber to their diet. Make sure it is 100% pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filler.
#5
Kelp is a great source of vitamins and has many healing properties you may not have known about
#6
I also like to give my companions a little bit of Calcium
#7
I also like to use Diatomaceous Earth. It has many uses.
We hope this has been helpful in showing you the many benefits these and other foods/vitamins can provide for your pet.
A lot of these things can also help allergy sufferers.
Is your pet itchy and scratchy?! Maybe they have allergies or maybe it's the ingredients in their food. Here is a chart on the Planet Paws web site that I found that show a few foods that are the main ingredient in some dogs foods. These foods are the cause to a lot of allergies and cause your pet to itch. Just something to think about.
